Bear and Kind Apawthecary is a homegrown Australian pet care brand launched in 2019 to offer pawrents organic and eco-friendly skin and coat care products for sensitive furbabies.

The 'Bear' is a nod to our product testers and resident cuddle bears (otherwise known as Murray River Retrievers), Mila, Hattie and Uncle Bear. It also represents the natural simplicity of our products and the things you won't find in them (bare). The 'Kind' refers to the use of only natural and organic ingredients, being gentle on sensitive skin, and being kind to the planet. Every product is plant-based and handmade right here on our little farm in the tiny town of Barkly (no pun intended) in the beautiful mountains of the Pyrenees Ranges in country Victoria, Australia.

Our ingredients are 100% clean and natural and certified organic or grown organically (100% chemical-free) where possible. We use only organic botanicals, butters, oils and produce (such as banana and carrot) for added goodness and add certified organic essential oils for their natural scent and other benefits to the skin and coat. Our products are strictly free of chemical nasties including synthetic fragrances and preservatives, SLS, parabens, sulphates, petrochemicals, palm oil and the like. We test our products on humans first and avoid any ingredient that is tested on animals. Oh... our products are also 100% non-toxic, so they are safe if your pupper licks them at any time.

We're also fussy when it comes to our packaging. We pride ourselves on being 100% plastic-free... using only biodegradable Kraft paper packaging and aluminium tins. We pack our orders using paper-based post packs and fill, and reuse and recycle our boxes.
